National Volcanic Park

Last day before we left Hawaii, we took a 40 min flight to Big Island for a one day trip. Biggest and youngest island of all, big island is famous for its volcanic activities. There are places where you can see lava flowing though it would take a full day of hike. Jenny and I took a 2-hour hike in one of the silent craters in stead.

It's pretty amazing on the way down to bottom of the crater where we saw livehood on the sidewalk changed from tropical forest to deserted land. The walk across the bottom felt like walking on sizzling lava again, the heat was from top of the sky however. No one was on the road except we two. We passed a pile of stones similar to those in tibet, we added two hoping they could bring us good luck.
