My best friend from middle school brought me a wonderful gift on the weekend. A family video collection of our life from the old times. His dad is one of the earliest I know who had a video camera at home. The nicest thing about video camera is that it records every single detail of a event truthfully. And trust me on this, no matter how wonderful, silly or even ugly you thought when something was recorded, you will appreciate and enjoy it like a precious treasure when you look at it again ten years later.
That is EXACTLY what happened to me. I watched my life over 15 years old unfolded and replayed in front of me. Found myself filled with tearful laughter, precious memories pieced together brought me joy, my heart sinks as I realized life is so wonderful but so painfully short. As time passing by, we are gaining fortune, success, weight and burden, but losing "teen spirit" - a young heart. Brutal it is, it is a reality no one could change.
I will buy a new mini DV tomorrow and start shooting. Yes, bring back my life, at least on screen.
